Happy new year!

A very belated update…we are IN! We closed on December 8th and promptly set about making the place homey. First big project was the installation of the Jotul 400 (classy woodstove). Thanks, Ithaca Stove Works guys! It’s awesome. With plastic on the windows this place is getting toastier by the day. Mary Loehr made this purchase possible by fronting the funds, so we are focusing our fundraising on paying her back. We’re also looking for wood! Mark Carver built us a gorgeous wood rack and brought us a bunch of wood to get started, but we’ll need more to get through the winter.

We’ve held two Catholic Worker meetings here, a gathering & meal for the residents of the Jungle, the IHS Science Dept holiday party, and that’s just in the first few weeks! We look forward to hosting weekly AA meetings and whatever else comes to us in the new year.

Stay tuned for upcoming events. A work party & and an open house are in the near future…
